he New Zealand Government has constructed polytechnics, state owned Universities and colleges to promote higher education. The international University community of New Zealand comprises eight Universities.

There are around 860 private training establishments which are mostly privately funded. These institutes offer programs on various subjects ranging from hospitality to scuba diving.

Students can choose between diploma, degree, vocational and polytechnic courses. International students need to spend on an average NZD 1200 every month to manage their living expenses in New Zealand.
